Dr. Koop from the Institute of Botany, Munich University, Munich, Germany is a world-recognized leader in plastid and nuclear genetic transformation of plants, plant cell and organelle micromanipulation, cell and protoplast culture of barley, sugar beets and other crop species. Prof. Koop has graduated from Giessen University in 1969 with Diploma in Biology; he completed his Ph.D. in Botany, Genetics, and Biochemistry at the same University in 1972. He made his Habilitation in 1978 at Free University of Berlin. During 1993-1998 Prof. Koop was also working with American Cyanamid Company, a subsidiary of American Home Products Corp. Prof. Koop has over 14 years of experience in science management.
